Oldsmobile – The first US car maker to mass produce cars with standardized parts.
Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac – The name of a french adventurer who founded the city of Detroit. And hence, the name Cadillac came into being for that great American car.
Chrysler – He was the Chief Engineer at General Motors. Later, he bought over Maxwell Automobiles, and changed the car name to his own.
• The name JEEP came from Army men saying G.P. or General Purpose vehicle.
Studebaker – The brand of vehicle that took Abraham Lincoln the night he was shot.
