Name of the Day: Paramapada Sopana Padam
This must easily rank as the longest game name in India. The PSP that preceded Sony's Play Station Portable by many centuries, was the precursor of the kiddie game 'Snakes & Ladders'. Deceptively simple, the many-layered Paramapada was meant to explain the concept of birth & salvation to the layman. The dice cued karma, the snakes - the vices, and the ladders - virtues. The entire purpose of this profoundly philosophical game was to make the player realise the right path to take for boarding the stairway to heaven. I am surprised no one's made an Avatar-like computer game out of this. I like this name because it's unabashedly serpentine and it brings back so many memories of a lost childhood.
