Name of the Day: Makoba

Every time I zip through Nungambakkam High Road in Chennai, an African sounding name 'Makoba' flummoxes me like a puzzle waiting to be solved. Today, I decided to put an end to my misery. I got to the root of Makoba Elite Stationery. Apparently it's the nickname of one Mukund Chandji (the grandfather of the founder of the store). The tale behind the name reminded me of Nirma (short for Nirupama). Now Makoba may not be a great name but at least it gives the stationery store something to write home about. And that is what memorable names are about.
